Question by don1862: Would the 10 Baptists in trouble in Haiti have done better by working through an approved Christian agency?
I cannot understand why they didn’t work threough an existing approved Christian, or specificly Christian, agency already on the ground in Haiti. Hundreds of Christian missionaries, including Baptists, have been working in Haiti for many years. There are many approved Christian groups running orphanages, hospitals, schools etc. There are many ways these people could have demostrated Christian love and helped Hatian children without doing anything illegal. Many Christian families have adopted Hatian orphans through such agencies.

any number of things would have been better than trying to take the children out of the country illegally. it’s not clear at this point what their real intention was, but apparently the leader of the group was having serious financial difficulties in the US.
